The Ontario Review has published its first list in 1980. Since then, the Ontario Review has brought more than 50 books. These books included paperback and hand cover editions. They also covered different genres. This includes Chase Twichell & Albert Goldbarth’s poetry collections and anthologies that are dedicated to  Joan Didion and E. L. Doctorow’s work. Speaking of anthologies, the publications of Ontario Review included a lot of anthologies.

The birth of The Ontario Review Books was inevitable and a natural result of the original magazine. Many of the published books at the Ontario Review Books were by writers who first published their work in the Ontario Review. This includes names like Jeanne Schinto and Pinckney Benedict. The Ontario Review has published their first books alongside a great number of poets and writers across the years.
